NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Wednesday the fourth update of the official watch list for The Bowerman as selected by The Bowerman Women's Watch Committee. Hawaii's Amber Kaufman and Texas A&M's Gabby Mayo were promoted to The Bowerman '10' as a result of performance from the early portion of the 2010 outdoor season.
Kaufman returns to the group for the second time as a result of a collegiate-leading high jump of 6-3 1/4 (1.91m) at the Stanford Invitational. Mayo has notched world-leading marks in the 100 meters and as part of Texas A&M's 4×100-meter relay team.
Already in the 2010 outdoor season the group of ten on the watch list has accounted for six world-leading marks, eight American leaders and 11 collegiate leaders. In addition, Lisa Koll set a new collegiate record in the 10,000 meters two weeks ago at the Stanford Invitational.
The Bowerman Advisory Board appointed four of its members to comprise The Bowerman Men's Watch Committee and another four of its members to make up The Bowerman Women's Watch Committee. The committee will release its next update on Wednesday, May 5. The three men and three women finalists will be named on July 13. Award winners will be announced at the USTFCCCA Annual Convention, held December 13-16 in San Antonio, Texas.
